Artists - is your website “booker friendly?”

Posted by admin on 06 Jan 2011 | Tagged as: Tips for Artists

Here’s an email from one of our hosts, who knows what he’s looking for when artists inquire about his series. He was checking out The Twilite Broadcasters. Here’s what he had to say:

—-

What a great illustration of a booker-friendly home page for an artist. Almost everything I need is on the home page, and nothing gives me an easy excuse to rule them out.

  • Video. Check.
  • Regular and widespread touring. Check.
  • Strong bio. Check.
  • Compelling music. Check.
  • A website apprearance that shows me they care enough to be professional. Check.

They would make my Maybe pile in 30 seconds. And by the end of the video, I’d stop and go look for the missing piece to book them: banter/showmanship.

If they added a 7-10 minute unedited video of an excerpt from a live performance that impressed me, I’d have the slamdunk booking…..in less than 15 minutes. Unheard of, for me.

I can’t remember the last time I could say that about an unknown artist.

These guys are a serious bright spot for being booker-friendly.
