Wow… 220 videos and 80 host judges! This is about twice as much as last year.

Judging starts today and we expect the top rated videos to be seen by a LOT of judges.

The top three winners will win 5 or 10-day house concert tours that will take place in May 2011. See the contest details and the list of prizes from D’Addario, Planet Waves, and Q-Lighting.

I just attended SWRFA, the first of five fall conferences dedicated to bring our great artists to the attention of house concert hosts, venues, and music industry folks.

What. An. Amazing. Weekend.

The talent that is available to our community of hosts is stunning, and the fact that you can attend one of these festival/conferences and watch them play in my hotel room is, frankly, a hoot.

This week’s conference starts Thursday in Bolingbrook, Illinois (midwest region.) Next week we’re in Mountain View, Arkansas (southeast region.) I hope you’ll consider joining us even for a day. Jeff and I would love to meet you, and to hear your stories. This community attracts some fine, interesting people and it gives us great joy to spent time with you when we can.

House Concert Video Contest!

There are 10 days left for artists to submit videos for the contest. 3 winners get house concert tours in May (House Concert Month) and all videos will be judged by experienced hosts from CIYH. Prizes also include the lovely PLS (light show), and some great gear from D’Addario and Planet Waves.

Hosts, please sign up as a judge… we had a blast with this last year and several hosts were so inspired they booked artists from the videos they judged.

DinnerAndSong
I’m thrilled to report that several of our hosts have already scheduled DinnerAndSong events, and the first one takes place tomorrow (October 6th.)

Robert Hurley, one of our hosts and enthusiastic supporters, and a big fan of Stephanie Bettman and Luke Halpin, decided he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have them play when they came through town.

Robert’s series is booked way out, and he figured if he didn’t take this opportunity he’d have to wait two years to make a show happen.

So DinnerAndSong it is!
