Artist: Exploit Thyself - Lessons from Miche

Posted by admin on 16 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Tips for Artists

I don’t care how great your career was or is going, if you haven’t experienced this you have not yet earned your stripes as an artist. I want to thank Miche for pulling through with such panache.

Here’s a couple of spoilers…

“I think I had esteem when I walked in here, but I think my esteem picked up a book and left.”

“Rule #1 - always do your best. Rule #2, forget Rule #1 if you’re in New Jersey!”

The lesson: Yep. House concerts maybe a bit tougher to get than a gig at Borders - but it’s usually worth the effort.

OK - that was to inspire you to work. Now… for you James Brown fans, this is just brilliant fun.

Looks like I’m going to work a bit harder on my videos. Thanks Miche.

I just sent this to every person I know. It took me 10 minutes to write and send. I bet I get at least 2 shows, 4 places to sleep, silly pictures, and a bunch of lovely glasses of Cabernet from it. Check back with me. — fran

Hello First Name of Person on my Mailing List,

I’ve taken some time off touring, and recent gas prices have proven me extremely wise. However, I’m itching to get moving again, and I would love to see my friends embrace the idea of doing a house concert… they are truly my favorite thing to do.

Check out this short video…
