If you are doing house concerts, then at some point you are doing house guesting. This is an important part of the dynamic. People throw house concerts for a variety of reasons, but tantamount of those reasons is the chance to get to hang with an artist they admire; to be with them when they aren’t on stage. That being said, you’ve got to be on top of your game if you expect to be invited back next year. Fortunately, every place I have ever played, I can play again.

With the continued growth of concertsinyourhome.com, we are adding a lot of artists and presenters who are somewhat new to house concerts. Some may be still be planning their first event. Once an artist and host have agreed on the basic details, what should a host put in their invitations? It’s something I’ll expand on in a later post, but for now I’ll share an email I just sent to a presenter/friend who is hosting a house concert with me for the first time.
