House (Concert) Conference Call - November 27, 2007

I just participated in a conference call with members of the Positive Music Association, and spent about an hour talking about house concerts and CIYH. The invitation came from Scott Johnson, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak to his audience. They had some interesting questions, and I think you might find the conversation interesting.

My favorite part was Randall Williams‘ cheerful testimonial, which he succinctly summed up with “Yay!”

The conversation was recorded and you can listen to the call by… calling.

This recording is only available for two weeks, so grab a snack and have a listen. 8^)

Here’s a some information about the PMA:

The Positive Music Association (PMA) is a professional trade organization dedicated to expanding and promoting the Positive Music genre, also known as Poz, and supporting the individuals who participate in our industry.

There is a huge, untapped market of people hungry for this healthy, life-affirming music. Think of Poz as the music version of Oprah, the multi-billion dollar Self-Help Industry (with authors like Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson), the more than 50 million people in the U.S. alone who make up the Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability (LOHAS) Market, and the Environmental and New Thought Movements.

The PMA is about seeing music not only as entertainment but as a means of creating positive change in the world. People drawn to Poz music often are interested in subjects like personal development and empowerment, social transformation and peace, and in creating healthy environments, relationships and communities. We encourage artistic integrity and social responsibility.

A primary goal is to establish Poz as a new music category. This categorization makes it easy for the millions of people looking for healthy, new music to find and buy it.

The PMA provides the largest collection of poz artists and music in the world, and provides resources and networking opportunities for members to grow and market their music. Through Poz Radio, members get a chance to have their music heard online. See news clippings about Poz and the PMA here.

This site includes a list of PMA members and links to their websites, Poz Radio, member spotlight, music resources, links to other positive media, songs by subject, and positive music events.

I’ve noticed several professional CIYH artists are members of the PMA, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
