Recommendations for New House Concert Hosts

House concerts are a wonderful way to support the arts, entertain your friends, and create memories for a lifetime. We are incredibly grateful for our network of house concert presenters, a group of people who nurture successful and developing music artists.
If you’ve recently listed your information at concertsinyourhome.com, this is for you. Here are ten things I recommend you do, in order of importance:
1. Please find your house concert listing to make sure everything is correct.
Select your state/province (or country), and scroll down by city until you see your series. The city should link to a map, the name of your series and its green, yellow, or red “booking light” should link to your booking information. Click on it, look it over, and log in to make any necessary changes.
2. If you’ve already booked an artist for your house concerts, you can post your schedule and create electronic flyers. You can list up to 6 shows at a time with our quick form, and potentially grow your mailing list with people interested in house concerts in your area.
3. Browse the artists who support this website. We’ve added a fun video channel, and an easy search form to find artists that appeal to you.
4. Visit our online store for house concert gear. Fun shirts, mugs, gear to help you spread the word about house concerts.
5. Please link to us from your website. We have some nice banners - just copy and paste!
6. Here’s a fun mailing list form you can download to build your repeat audience.
7. Stay in touch. We’re on Twitter/Facebook, etc. We love to hear ideas and suggestions. This site exists to serve you, and to help you get the most out your house concert experiences. You can always email us through the contact page on the site.
8. Rave! Recommend your favorite artists, your fabulous recent concert, the new trick you learned to raise interest in your next show. Share anything that can help other house concert hosts to continue and grow their series.
9. Periodically review your listing (see #1 above,) especially if you feel you are getting too many or too few emails from artists. Maybe it’s time to change the green light to a yellow light, or to be more specific about the experience level or style of artists you prefer. Help us thin your inbox if it’s getting out of hand.
10. Visit our helpful blog for great tips. It’s the best source of information for active house concert presenters.
