"They look like a bluegrass band- there's a banjo, fiddle, dobro and other trappings- but you won't find any songs about mama or whiskey. There's no twang in Kate Lamont's soulful vocals and Doug Sauter's guitar and banjo playing is certainly the result of some Bela Fleck/Michael Hedges gene merge. His instrumentation is as complex as the most intricate jazz but far more accessible and melodic.

Banjo and cello? I swear, I am not making this up and yes, it's astoundingly beautiful. Production so clean it leaps out of the stereo. Who are they? A bluegrass October Project? A jazzed up Alison Krauss and Union Station? I give up. Just go buy this CD!" - Sing Out Magazine

Audiences are dazzled by the Del Rey's virtuoso technique and sly humor. As reigning Queen of the Resonator Guitar (and Resonator Ukulele!), Del's playing combines country blues, stride piano, classic jazz, and hillbilly boogie through the sensibility of "an autodidact trailor-park esthete." Her unique guitar style results from the way she channels the sound of the left-hand of boogie-woogie and stride piano.

Del Rey started playing classical guitar when she was four. As a teenager, she met bluesman Sam Chatmon who inspired her to become a blues queen.Still in her teens, she developed a passion for Memphis Minnie, studying the flamboyant Delta blueswoman's formidable guitar technique....

It's easy to hear the influences in the music of James Casto. Traces of Billy Joel, Elton John, Kenny Loggins , Bruce Hornsby, and Michael McDonald all weave their way in his songs. Casto started his musical career as a drummer doing session work and live performances in Atlanta, GA. His deepest passion, however, was songwriting. But it was years later before he felt confident enough to pursue his dream to write songs.

Not seeing a future in music for himself, Casto earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and set out to make it in the business world by starting his own company. In 2000, he sold his enterprise to a multi-national company and went to work for them. Shortly... More in the full listing.

Introspective light hearted optimistic melodies and lyrics along with profound life lessons shaped and formed by over 40 years of writing music from the heart; allowing love to surface with no regard to commercial appeal. Freedom in musical expression on the quest to explore who we are absent of permission to be authentic. Encouraging genuine acceptance in contrast to a competitive world; an open heart to life. Seasoned musician and songwriter who allows music to speak where conversations have failed to covey. Incorporating favorite standards with original songs attesting to life as a proposition of play, and the fun is up to us.

“Think back on it all” - goes the opening line of Kenyon Walls, the first track on Richard X. Heyman released his first indie disc, Actual Size, a collection of six of his finest songs recorded on an 8-track Tascam machine in a home studio, the same one on which Richard would subsequently record his classic album Living Room!!

In between, they banter and laugh with the audience, and by the end of the show, everyone is friends. Performing Songwriter Magazine calls this Southern sprite's music, "Darkly romantic, hot and humid, haunted and gothic, music that seems to have grown slowly from some rich, dark soil."
