Cali has been playing the piano since she was a kid and always wanted to be a performer. As a young adult, she took a brief detour, earning a degree in psychology, working in an emergency room and briefly attending nursing school.
But she soon found her way back to performing and honed her skills as a musician and entertainer in piano bars, so she brings that sense of warmth and intimacy to all her shows. For her, the audience and their participation is key because we are all in this together. Her performances are a communal event, and that’s the way she likes it.
Cali lives in Los Angeles and keeps very busy performing her one-woman shows for audiences big and small.
She is also an accomplished songwriter with two albums. Jim Beloff of Flea Market Music says this about her new ukulele CD, “Are You Having Any Fun?” "On the 15 songs here Cali showcases her solid uke chops (both strumming and picking) and her warm and friendly vocals. A clutch of standards share the CD with some well-crafted and hummable originals. This CD is a gem."
Cali also made a comedy CD, “Cali Rose Gets Goofy” which features her "sort of" hit song, “It’s a P.M.S. Kind of Day,” which is played on off-beat music programs around the world.
Says Independent Songwriter Web Magazine: "Cali is a witty, charming songwriter with a great sense of humor. Her keen sense of the obvious is truly a gift, seriously. There are no "fluff" words here. She calls them as she sees them and make no mistake, although the content makes us laugh, Cali Rose is an exceptional artist with a serious love for music."
So-o-o-o, Concert In Your Home folks, let’s do a show together.
